1. How long will it take to receive my font?

It really depends on a lot of things.  We are doing this in our spare time, so some days we may be able to create several fonts and some days we may be able to create none.  It also depends on how much editing each of the samples we receive need.  Sometimes they need a lot of editing and that can take time.  It also depend son how many people are on the waitlist.  Expect about a 10 day wait on average.  Although we will try to get through them as quickly as possible, it may take up to 2 or 3 weeks.

2. Why don’t you do cursive fonts?

Cursive fonts are pretty hard to do and our software doesn’t allow us to adjust the tracking (letter spacing) for our fonts.  It’s all done automatically, so while print fonts may look fine, cursive fonts won’t.

3. Can you space my font closer together?

Unfortunately, our software doesn’t let us adjust the tracking when we create the fonts.  However, if you’re using Photoshop or some similar program then you can adjust it yourself in your character (font) palette.  Like this…

4. My keyboard doesn’t have all of the characters on the sample sheet.  How do I use them?

There are ASCII charts all over the internet that can show you how to use some of the more unusual characters, but my favorite way to find what I need is to use the character map.

Go to your Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > Character map.

That should bring up this box:

Now just click on the character you want to use and in the lower right corner it will show you what keys to type to use that character.

Easy, right? 

5. I put my signature in the signature box.  Does that mean that everyone who downloads my font will have access to my signature?

Good question!  The answer is no, if you included your entire name in your signature.  The font that we email you personally does contain your signature (it’s the ^ key).  However, it is omitted from the public version we put up here on the site.  Only YOU have access to the copy that includes your entire signature.

If you put just your first name (or a doodle) in the signature box then it IS included in the public version.  If you don’t want even that included in the public version, please let us know in your initial email.
